Peter is a New York State Certified Real Estate Appraiser holding a license in the General Category.  As an Independent Fee Appraiser and Counselor, he has broad experience in commercial, industrial and residential property valuations and analysis.

Prior to assuming his role as an Independent Appraiser and Counselor, Peter A. Lacalamita, MAI, was Chief Appraiser/Vice President of the Appraisal Department of Dollar Dry Dock Bank.  He was associated with the Bank from 1962 to 1990.  During that period, Mr. Lacalamita directed an Appraisal Department responsible for the analysis and appraisal of income producing properties.  The areas of investment were Nationwide (Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Florida, Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc.), with concentration in New York City and Metropolitan New York.  The varied types of Income Producing Properties appraised were Land Loans, Leaseholds, Apartment Buildings, Office Buildings, Theaters, Shopping Centers, Industrial Parks, Hotels and Motels.

Mr. Lacalamita's extensive appraisal background included service as Senior Real Estate Appraiser for the City of New York, Department of Real Estate; Appraiser for Cities Service Oil Company, Real Estate Department, and Appraiser-Mortgage Investment Department of Institutional Securities Corporation.

Mr. Lacalamita has been an officer and served on the Board of Directors of the Appraisal Institute, Metropolitan New York Chapter.  He is past President of the Metropolitan New York Chapter.
